      Swap will be storyteller Rona Leventhal.   
      A movement and drama
      specialist, Rona Leventhal offers tales from many cultures and traditions,
      weaving together humor, singing, mime, a variety of accents, and
      audience participation. In addition to performing, Rona teaches
      and leads workshops on the art of storytelling and is co-author of the
      popular storytelling sourcebook, Spinning Tales, Weaving Hope.

      The Song & Story Swap is an event where people of all ages gather to share stories and songs that may be
      traditional, newly written, or of personal experiences. You can tell,
      sing, or lead everyone in singing, play an instrument or request a song or
      story.  Listeners are welcome, too.  Admission is free, with
      donations accepted. 
      The warm-up theme this month is  Survival.

      New Edition of Spinning Tales,
      Weaving Hope released 
       While
      we're on the subject of Rona Leventhal, let us announce that the
      much-loved storytelling resource book, Spinning Tales, Weaving Hope:
      Stories, Storytelling and Activities for Peace, Justice and the
      Environment, has just been released in a second edition by New Society
      Publishers.  Rona is a co-editor of the work, along with
      Massachusetts storytellers, John Porcino, Jay Goldspinner, Katie Green and
      Ed Brody.

      Wendell Full Moon Coffeehouse  
       Each
      month on the Saturday closest to the full moon, Wendell, Mass. hosts the Full
      Moon Coffeehouse.  The event begins with an open mic at 7:30,
      followed by a folk or jazz main bill.  It is set in the quaint and
      historic Wendell Town Hall, reportedly the longest running non-profit
      venue in New England. 
      Among the performers booked for 2002 are
      Cindy Kallet (2/23), Gideon Freudmann & Mark Hirschler (3/23), and
      Rani Arbo & Daisy Mayhem (4/20).

      Miller's song Rachel  
       Last
      month Lou Wigdor revealed his picks for the 10
      best non-classical albums of 2001.  At the same time he announced
      his choice for best song/performance
      of the year, Buddy & Julie Miller's heartfelt and soaring tribute
      to a victim of the Columbine High School tragedy entitled Rachel.  
      Lou spoke with Buddy and Julie during a
      brief pause in their touring schedule, and delved into the process that
      generated the musical gem.  Read his commentary, Musician's
