Members of Panharmonium will join June 10 Song & Story Swap

Please come share in an evening of music and stories at the June Pioneer Valley Folklore Society SONG & STORY SWAP.

Members of Panharmonium join the Song & Story Swap on June 10!

Friday, June 10, 7:30-9:30 p.m. at the Black Sheep Café, 79 Main St., Amherst, Mass.

Guest performers this month will be four members of the 8-person world music ensemble, Panharmonium. Zjemi Moulton plays clarinet, Gene Goldwater, the accordion, Christopher Stoney provides string bass, and Dinah Kudatsky, vocals.

Panharmonium offers a spirited smorgasbord of international folk dance music, with an emphasis on Eastern European, Balkan, and Middle Eastern. They serve up vocals and instrumentals with unusual harmonies and rhythms in Turkish, Greek, Israeli, Hungarian, Yiddish, Bulgarian, Romanian, Macedonian, Arabic, Russian, Serbian, Croatian, Armenian - not to mention English! As the house band for the Amherst International Folk Dances, they can be heard and danced to on the first Friday of each month at the Bangs Community Center in Amherst at 7:30 p.m.

The warm-up theme this month is Creation.
