Entertainer Jackson Gillman will join Song & Story Swap on 2nd Saturday (March 9)

Jackson Gillman will join Mar. 9 Song & Story Swap

Please come share in an evening of music and stories at the Pioneer Valley Folklore Society Song & Story Swap.

Saturday, March 9, 7:00-9:00 p.m. at First Church, 165 Main St., Amherst, MA. Free parking is available in back of the church, and the meeting room is near the front.

Known as the "Stand-Up Chameleon," Jackson Gillman magically transforms himself into a wide array of eccentric characters through his many talents as mime, actor, songsmith and storyteller. His interactive performances are seasoned with skillful dialect, song, dance, mime and sign language.

Shining through Jackson's wit and versatility is his bemused, warm-hearted honesty. Jackson's humor evolves from finding that which is funny in human beings trying to be human and often tripping over their own being in the attempt.

In keeping with the season, Jackson Gillman will present an Irish-themed program. Expect a rollicking evening, well-lubricated with his leprechaun spirit. His repertoire will include sprightly songs and tales about Guinness beer, a faux Irishman, and true farce about a toppled statute of the patron Saint of Ireland.

ackson Gillman -- The Stand-up Chameleon Jackson Gillman is a twenty-five year veteran of the New England Touring Artists Program and also served on the theatre advisory panel for the Maine Arts Commission. He has been Teller-in-Residence at the International Storytelling Center in Jonesborough, TN, and for two decades hosted a summer comedy concert series on Mount Desert Island in Maine.

Prepare to be amused by Jackson Gillman at the First Church in Downtown Amherst on March 9 at 7pm.
